I am so grateful to all the kind people I met at St. Juliana’s Cancer Survivor support group this evening. Every encounter is an exchange, just as we were talking about. I was fortunate to receive some tips on how to bring meditation to patients of all sorts in the hospital, whether in the MRI lab or on the TV.

I encourage all of you to follow up on your own with the audio tape I mentioned. The link to the audio file is here. Click the file to play it in your computer or on your phone. Right-click and choose Save File As to save it to your computer or phone to play it later. The recording takes you through the Awareness/Body Scan meditation we did near the beginning of the session, and then the chair yoga we did, and finally the relaxation meditation we did at the end.

Even if you don’t listen to this entire file, just practice taking a few mindful breaths whenever you feel distracted or anxious. Even just a minute of mindful attention will break those thoughts and bring you to the Now.

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions!
